Are you looking at the XD45 Compact, Service or Tactical? I, of course, am partial to the Compact.

Other than a local shop, your best bet for buying an XD is at gun shows, generally you can find a vendor without a shop who can give better prices.

My suggestion is you whereever you end up buying the gun from, not only look at cost but service & friendliness... You'll be back there from time to time and having a name/handshake is priceless.

I paid 499 New In Box for my 4" Service Model. It's the best 500 dollars I've spent so far, but now I have a Glock 19 *puts on flame suit* on layway.

I recently got the XD 45 Compact tactical. Comes with 10 rd mag for short grip and the 13 rd mag with sleeve for full size grip.

It is a sweet gun to shoot and very accurate.

I paid $511 out the door at a gun shop.

well went to the New Cabelas store that opened up yesterday and there they were all the XD models so got a few out and looked at them had about 4-5 layin on the counter when i decided to go ahead and put one in Layaway till my Handgun Licence goes all the way through then ill go up and pick it up
ended up getting the XD.45 ACP 4" barrel with twin 13 round clips in the package price was $529 so i dont think that was to bad for the whole package

Not a bad deal at all considering some day it may save your life. Learn and respect it backwards and forwards or some day it may even take your life. On that note, calling a mag a clip is like calling a tattoo machine a tattoo gun. The XD takes a magazine, a pro uses a tattoo machine. Be safe and congrats!

i found the 4" compact .45 for $469 from a shop in florida. I found it through a dealer in texas, same gun with night sights for $587, and luckily, my local shop did a price match, and actually beat the price in texas and I got my 4" compact XD45 with night sights for $579. taxes and background check came to $619 out the door. I'll be picking it up tomorrow or wednesday.

Do they even make a compact tactical? I thought the only compacts were the 4" service?
