Adjustible sights for the xd-45
Finally got my xd-45 compact out and put her on paper recently. She is shooting Low(About 3 inches low at 25 yards). Nice tight group, just UNACCEPTABLY LOW. Seems to be a problem with evey springfield handgun that I have ever purchased. I purchased a 1911 loaded model when they first came out and it is the best shooting weapon ever. It consistanly grouped 6 inches low and 3 inches to the left. I put a set of adjustibles on it and away I went.
I will not ship this gun back to Springfield ( They would have corrected my 1911, but to me its absolutely not worth the headache). Am thinking of a set of adjustibles for it. Who makes a good pair of adjustibles for this gun? Anyone come out with a tool for pressing them on or should I just use a hammer and punch. And yes it is the weapon that is shooting low.

I have the 4" compact also. From everything I have read they are zeroed in at about 15 yards from the factory. Mine shoots about the same as yours, maybe a little lower, from 25yds (I haven't done very much shooting from that distance since I fixed an anticipation problem that was causing me to push everything down about 3" -- adjusting for that I probaby have identical POI to you).

I still believe my XD45 Compact came with the wrong factory sights installed (had the same sights as on an XD40 tactical, maybe they should be the same, maybe not...). It shot way way low, like 6-8" at 8yrds, it wasn't my shooting as my XD45 Service was dead on in the same range session.
Anyway, I installed TFO sights on the Compact, which raised the rear sight by ~50% compared to it's stock sights, now it's shooting like the Service model. I know a lot of us shoot low when first trying an XD, but there are times when it's not the shooter, but the gun. Here's my experience with pics before and after installing TFOs XD45Compact + TFO, corrected my POI issues

Did you install those sights yourself?

No way, XD sights can be pretty tough to remove/install. I wouldn't even let my local gunsmith do it (not enough experience with XDs). I sent both of my XD45 slides to James at www.xd-hs2000.com to install the TFO sights. He does great work and only charges $15, which includes return shipping.

Really? I've been carrying adjustible sights on my 1911's daily for the last 10 years with nary a hiccup. They also work well on my IDPA set up.
