Any intel on a new XD45 Sub-Compact?

Has anyone heard anything? Is SA going to eventually produce a "Sub" Compact in .45acp?? I, for one, hope so.

Thx.

I believe the compact is the best your going to get. SA's market on the XD was the increased rounds in a .45, if they cut it down to a subcompact they'll be in compition with the other SC 45 companies out there. Companies tend to make these decisions based on the mose market share they can get with the product.

What subcompact .45s are there available? I'm relatively new to the "shooting scene" so please forgive my ignorance. I've only seen a very few.

Also, a 4 inch barrel is the shortest I'd go with a 45. If you need to go smaller, I'd go with a Kahr. I have a P9 covert that I can carry anywhere. With 7 127 grain +p+ rangers I don't feel underarmed.

I don't list my guns - I know glocks, FALs, and AKs but I'm not sure my ability to fill a gunsafe with guns make me an expert on anything.

All that you can depend on from a 45 is that it will drill a .45 - .70 inch hole about 14 inches into someone. There will not be "energy dump", people will not fly backwards, and they will not necessarily fall as if they have been struck by lighting.

XD45sc

Well I wouldn't be surprised if XD does produce one but for now the compact is really I need or want. In the Guns & Ammo mag that has the XD45 compact on the front, I forget what month that was. The article addresses this same issue, Springfield indicated that there was more in store for the XD, so take that for what it's worth.
My guess is they will, the XD45 is a huge success, and I think the compact will be just as big. I would like to see SA, to offer higher capacities in the 45 GAP, and .40 SW and .357 SIG. Why buy the .40 or Sig when the .45 is higher capacity. That's what sold me on my 45 compact.

Gotta agree with that. If you really want a subcompact, I'd say go with something that handles a shorter barrel more gracefully than the .45 ACP (I'd even go as far as to say .45 GAP if you really must have a .45).
