Sure it's a laser pointer @ thinkgeek but it has some pics that show how much brighter a green laser is. I'd like to have one just for the hell of it, but I'm not going to spend $89 on a laser pointer.

You could also ask about a blue laser... but that'll set you back even more. http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/lights/896a/
And it'd probably make the bad guy think the aliens were coming for him again.
Here's some affordable green laser pointers for you -

Errr...are you really going to add one more step in actually shooting someone? That split-second could mean a matter of life or death. The tactics I have always been taught with lasers is to turn it on and use it for target acquisition. Plus, if for some reason your laser malfunctions, you won't have that momentary hesitation as you switch to your iron sights.

Green sights may be better in longer-shot situations, but with a handgun I think the red laser is sufficient.

Cheers! M2

I own a green laser sight. Currently it is too big to work in an internal capacity like a red laser.

There are simple red laser diodes, which are normal semi-conductors, an are thus extremely cheap to manufacture.

Green lasers (At present) use an infra-red diode and frequency double it up to green. This makes them big and bulky compared to simple red lasers.

OTOH there is a booming market in blue laser diodes. Give the market 2-3 years and blue laser pointers should be well south of a hundred dollars. HD-dvd players and BlueRay use blue laser diodes.

Now if we can just get the BGs to wear black and stand still for a second we can give them a right good hotspot!

Seriously, thanks for the link to the video.

So the guys at work go to the local gun shop at lunch time(I was too busy) and came back talking about the fact that they quit selling internal lasers at this time because of numerous pistol firing malfunctions reported? I sooo couldnt wait for the purchase of the 45 to get washed over in the old ladys head so I could get the laser but now im 2nd guessing it-any bad reports on malfunctions w/the pistol itself with the laser installed(note they wouldnt specify what make gun-I dont think they even asked)?

my local gun shop quit carrying them supposedly due to gun malfunctions? I was just wondering if any of you all have experienced any problems or heard of these issues?

At $300 for the red laser, a green one would surely retail at over $450! I think the internal LaserMax is too expensive as it is.
