Scott,
Yeah, that's the ticket!! Is that my particular pistol in the photograph? This undercut really makes a big difference. One suggestion if you decide to do this is to have Scott round off the right side (for right handed shooters) of the undercut as it's a little sharp. I don't do sharp on my pistols and I had forgotten to ask him to do this so I just rounded the right side a little. The undercut works great! Paul |

The factory clean-up is frequently called a "fluff-and-buff" in the 1911 world. Nothing that happens during the clean-up is something that won't happen naturally over time as the gun "wears-in". Some of us just don't have the patience to wait a few thousand rounds for it to happen on its own.
I had Scott work over my XD-9 Tactical a few weeks ago. He did a competition trigger-job (with premium sear), factory clean-up, installed sights, installed skate tape, fitted an aftermarket barrel and smoothed and opened the magwell. I hadn't even put a single round down the pipe before I sent it off to him (brand spankin' new). It wasn't cheap, but it was well worth it in my not-so-humble opinion. |

I want to send mine to Scott but sounds like shipping is quite expensive. How much does shipping typically cost?

Mike,
From PA to Bend Oregon was $53.17 (with insurance) next morning UPS. The return postage charge from Scott was $53 via Fed-Ex. You can't get much further across the country except NJ!
