I started her off with a Sig 239 in 9 mil. She shot well for her first time, with several rounds in the red, so I asked her if she wanted to shoot the XD 45 tactical. I figured she'd freak, but she put three rounds right in the X-Ring and now wants a .45. She's 20, and has to wait till next year to get a permit, but I would imagine she'll be packing an XD before long.

I've taken my 9-yr-old son to the range on several occassions. He's shot my XD-45, M1911 and even my AK-47! I will usually load only one round for him, just to be on the safe side; but my intent is to educate him on guns and safety. I got a few pictures of him with the weapons (after he has fired them and they are not loaded) and he thinks he's uber-cool. He is probably one of the few if not the only fifth-grader at his school who has fired a Yugo M70AB2!
