Finally bought one.
Having nothing better to do yesterday I decided to go pick one up. Looked at them months ago then finally decided to get up and get one.
Thanks to Arizona for not having a waiting period! No chance to rethink it. Going to go out in the desert and put a few hundred through it to see if i like the feel. |

Xd Springer, have you tried that new 5" in an IWB holster yet? I'm curious as to how that fits. Fiddeled a bit at a gun show and the 4" and 5" compact frames are exactly the same. Does your frame have that wierd crows-foot looking flash line on the handle by the grip saftey going up into the corner and to the grip saftey pin? I've yet to see a XD .45 compact that does not. Annoyed the crap out of me at first.

So, what is the deal with going out and shooting in the desert? Are there just designated areas? Or, certain places that have informally turned into a designated area? Or, is it acceptable to just wander out there and start shooting? Anybody clean up all of the lead and brass?

Gee Thanks JBIV
My 45 compact has the same lines on the frame but I never noticed them UNTIL you said something. Now I will forever wonder.
Have you also noticed the ugly seam line inside the half moon hollow at the back of the grip? Probably why there are other threads on here relating to filling in that space.
