just find a dealer that sells them, purchase it, fill out the necessary paperwork and send it in with $200 for BATF, and wait 2-4 months for your paperwork to come back. then you can pick it up.

that 2-4 months is depressing...but if you want it, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

if i might ask, what does "a little fitting" mean? does that mean a blacksmith or some sanded parts of it down or something? I'm pretty new to this stuff, so some of these things are beyond me at present...

To fit my conversion barrel, it took a nail file and 5 minutes of my time.

Typically, the dealer will provide and help you with all the paper work. I wouldn't deal with one that didn't. First, you need to find out if suppressors are legal in your state. If they are, you'll need to get fingerprinted and have some passport type photos made. You'll also have to have your local chief law enforcement officer(usually the sheriff) sign off on it. If he refuses, there are ways around him, but it gets more complicated. There is a $200 tax for each suppressor on top of the cost of the suppressor and what the dealer charges to handle the process. Be prepared to spend around $1000 for a 9mm suppressor when all is said and done. Plus, you may have to wait many months for the Feds to approved everything. It's definitely not a speedy or inexpensive process.

BTW, it's the same process for acquiring machine guns. Only they cost WAAAAAAY more.

I heard with the Machine guns, the value on them will only appreciate over time, so they're actually a very good investment. true?
