Golden Saber FTF

I've had my XD-45 Tactical for a couple of months now and have put about 1300-1500 rds through it. I've used Blazer, WWB, Selier & Bellou, Corbon DPX and Double Tap 185 grn Gold Dots & 230 grn FP's without a problem.

I also purchased some Remington Bonded Golden Sabers in 185 & 230 grn. I've had 3-4 failure to feeds in @ 150 rds. In each instant the bullet noses straight up & out the ejection port, then the slide closes on the case, once severely denting it. I've decided to shoot the rest of my GS at the range and use my Gold Dots for HD.

I've also just received a few boxes of Federal HST 230 grn HP's to try out.

Anyway I was wondering if anybody else has had problems with their XD-45 and Remington Golden Sabers?

Thanks!

I have shot a couple boxes of 230gr Golden Sabers in my 45c and had no function problems at all.

I figured it might be my gun. I would expect others might have the same problem though. Also I keep my gun clean; I suspect that maybe the feed ramp is the problem, although it looks shiny enough when I clean it.

Again guys, this is why we figure out what ammo our gun likes first. Your personal preference in ammo should be based on what functions, then what is the most accurate, then what bullet design works the best. Just because some agency uses it, some gunrag writer shoots jello with it, or some gun store commando says it's the best, doesn't mean it will work for your firearm. You must test at least 100 rounds of whatever ammo you choose for defense. I personally test over 150 in my pistols.

My 45 tactical feed ramp gets dirty fast. I wipe it off at the range after every 50 shots.

I have around 300-400 rounds of golden sabre 230 grain and 50 rounds of golden sabre 185+p thru my service pistol and no FTF or eject. The 185 did NOT shoot to point of aim however, so i use the 230 as carry ammo.

You may want to have an experienced shooter watch you shoot while using the Golden Sabre's, just to make sure that you are not "limp wristing" which causes many to experience FTF.

Just a thought.
