1'st 7 rounds @ the range

My new XD45 service is a pleasure !!! 1'st 7 rounds in the black at 25'. The next 7 were a 4'' group a little low and I think that was because I was too excited to take a breath before mag was empty! Same results at 50'. You guys were right!!!!

Not bad for the first time out with this (or any) trigger system that you are not used to. Believe me, these guns are very accurate. With the right ammo (you will have to experiment some) and more range time, you will be ripping the bullseye out at 50' with no problem.

Happy shooting!

Nice shootin' Tex!!! When I move out to 50' I tend to spread the rounds a little more. Wish I could hold the same grouping. I know, practice - practice - practice. Tough duty but somebody has to do it!

You are talking about 25 feet and 50 feet right. i am so used to using yards i get confused sometimes. so were these at ~8yds and ~17yds?

Hey JD,

No way I would call you stupid. Yes those were feet I was talking about. The outdoor range I go to is marked off in yards but the indoor one, which is where I was, is in feet so I figured I'd just go w/the flow.

IDPA is easy to shoot with an XD. I used to use a kimber that would sometimes give me problems. I now never worry about the gun and can concentrate 100% on shooting, rather than 80% shooting and 20% Will it go bang this time? What if it doesn't? How many do I have left in the mag? What drill should I perform next if it doesn't go bang? If I do a tap n rack and eject a live round, where/when is my next reload going to be?

Hey-

Thanx Slugger. Looking forward to the nx time out. And Pittbug, that's good news about the IDPA events. The 1st time I went to an event the only firearm I had was a Ruger Service Six but they let me play anyway. I thought it was a blast even though everyone else had semi-autos. Can't wait to get out there w/the XD.
