Cut the Slide Release??

On the work order forms for custom work at Springer, I've seen "Cut the slide release" listed. Now I was wondering if this just lightens how much force is needed to pull the slide back or what exactly does this do, and how is it done?I'm mailing my XD off to Springer tomorrow, and I figure I might as well just get as much work done as I can while it's there, so an answer asap would be very appreiated. But for now the order is:

4# Carry Job
TFO Night Sights
Polished Feed Ramp

Anything else you think is a necessity on the .45ACP??

I polished my feed ramp by putting about 3,500 round through it. Smooooooth.

I will be interested in hearing how you like the 4# trigger carry job when you get it back. That is the only other thing I'm thinking about doing on mine.
