Auction Site Prices
Are there actually good deals to be had on places such as gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com? I look for deals, but I can never find anything. I have found way better deals at gun dealer websites with static pricing. I even found the best deal for my XD45 at Cabela's. ($430). I have looked quite a bit, and it seems like even the used guns are over priced. Have you guys had good luck with these sites. Do I just suck at finding deals on here?

Auction sites have turned the way of gun shows bud good deals are really hard to find. But, thats not to say that they are not out there cause i have found a few. Its kinda like the best lookin girl back when you were in school there was only one and everybody else wanted her too...lol

Hi Tsanford,
I have to agree that auctions and gunshows don't have the deals aplenty that they used to have, but if you put enough time in, you can get some great deals. I kept looking and searching Gunbroker and Auction Arms for a first issue Colt Det. Special for quite a while before I snagged one in near perfect condition for half of what they normally go for. I was just lucky that no one else picked up on it till the auction ended. One of my all time best deals. Also got several other good but not great deals there. I have found that some of the best deals can be found in the classifieds on forums like this one. Ya have to be real quick to get them though. 66

I jut bought a Remington 870 on gunbroker for a disgustingly low price. You have to kee your eyes open and be very vigilant. I used to think the same as you but I finally found my deal.

I got a great deal on a 1300 on Guns America, but it took a lot of looking around. I think there are deals out there, but they're tough to come by.
On the other hand, I just sold a handgun on Gunbroker and got a good price for it, so I guess it goes both ways. That said, I've come across more deals by looking around locally at pawn shops and catching the sales at the big stores. There's a deal to be had somewhere, you just have to know what to look for. It's all about keeping your eyes open, whether you're online or in the local gun shop. |
