holster recommendations

i was wondering if someone could recommend an IWB holster for me. i am what some people might call a fat @$$ so the three o'clock position is not an option. i would prefer about oh four thirty-ish or small of the back. i have a .45 acp service that i am trying to holster. thanks.

Wink Comp-Tac

http://www.comp-tac.com/

Any holster from Comp-Tac is a very good choice. Myself I have the Undercover Pro. for my 4" 1911 also all my other handguns. I like them better then even my HIGH dollar Milt Sparks Versa Max IIs.

i checked out the pro undercover, do you think i should get it for a lefty since i will carry small of back, this would point the grip towards my right hand for draw?

Not a good idea. You will have to sweep your own back every time you draw. It is also a really weak postion to have your arm in. You are basically putting yourself in an arm lock with your palm facing out.

If you carry SoB, you are better off with the grip pointing up so you sweep the floor, Daniel-san. It still isn't a great idea in terms of the position of your arm.

Since I only carry at say 1:30 at right side it's a question I can't answer. I guess it would depend on what hand you will use to draw the gun since you plan on putting the right hand behind your back having it left hand seems correct.

The reasion I like the Pro Undercover is it's quick to put on my belt and quick to remove. This is very important to how I carry and make changes from one handgun to another. Hope this help some what.

when carrying SOB, you can learn to not sweep yourself by having the handle pointed to your strong hand. what i personally like about pointing it to weakside/up is i'm only shoving my thumb between the gun and myself/clothing, so less drag.

but yeah, carrying SOB works for some but i fear what D_Fence stated.

cheers

Just my thoughts

Carry behind you?

Personally, I say NAY.

The other day, I saw a young fella doing this.

Man oh man, do I wish now that I had set up the video feature on my phone and shot it so I could show all of you.

Think about it for a second, if you will. When something happens, TIME is of essence.

You could tell this kid, to me a kid, was farely new at this and every time he would try to REACH around and grab for that gun, around his side and grab it from the back, it looked so uneasy, so un natural, almost comic.

But my point is, by the time you reach around and grab it, MR. BG has already popped some off your way.
