Hogue, Pachmayr, Decal Grips...I go back to what works best

The ever so humble bike grip - shown on my XD45 Compact rib side out. Stays put with a little hair spray underneath, shines up beautifully with ArmorAll, doesn't shift, adds just enough traction, cost pennies, adds no apprciable thickness to your grip, lasts a long, long time, and can be cut any which way you like.

Whatever works for YOU that's what is important. Skateboard tape is way too abraisive for my delicate, albeit manly hands, let alone my custom-made Seville Row suits. Besides I hate scateboards and the !@#$% kid who who had one and tried to run me off the sidewalk. I'd like to scateboard his....

Usually that tape is pretty abrasive, but I guess I'm used to it now. Yeah, I JUST put it on before making that post. I like it better than the stock grip feeling.

Just do like the other Senior-citizens do when us Sk8r's come by: Get off the sidewalk and wait on someones lawn till we pass. You wouldn't want to break a hip! Ha! Ha!

In my younger days, I'd clothesline them as they went by.

kraigster, look at the physics of a skateboard..

because the feet are the new pivot point, it lowers the effective center of gravity of the person and board.. not to mention the wheels provide an area of relativly low friction (in comparison to someone on foot) solution? nicely nudge them if they crowd your space, this will either force a fall or they will have to jump off the board.. either way, the problem could be alleviated if adequite warning is given when approaching from behind.

and to those of you out there who do skate, its not that i am particularly unsavory to skaters (the fair majority of my friends skate) but i will not be run off the sidewalk by someone who should be more cognisant of their surroundings (just because you have a license to drive, doesnt mean you can drive recklessly and the same principle is present with skateboarding) you have no more right to be an unmitagated a$$ to me than i do to you. if fair warning is given, i have no problem with stepping aside to allow free and unbridled passage. however, if you blow past me and i accidentaly give you a push i wont take pity on you when you meet the concrete in a very personal face to face encounter.

i wouldnt be so hostile on this subject, except just yesterday this very thing happened and i have been riled up about it since..

oh, and just to make this sound slightly on topic, i have the pachmayr slip on grip, and it works amazingly well
