Gear X-Tension spacers for 13 rd mag?

Hello folks,

New to the board.

Just picked up an XD-45 Compact 4" with the "Dark Earth" frame.

I bought some Springfield manuf. Hi-Cap magazines (13 rds mags) in advance of the gun purchase, and realized after the fact that no polymer spacers were included with the mags.

My concern is that without the extended polymer spacer sleeve there is a gap where the magazine steel is exposed in the grip. Wondering about the safety issue of that, much less the ergonomics and aesthetics.

So, two questions:

1. Does Springfield or a third-party manuf. offer Dark Earth colored polymer spacers that fit over the regular extended 13 rd. Mags?

2. Are there extended mags currently being sold that already have the Dark Earth polymer spacer included? I haven't seen any anywhere on the internet. All I've found are the extended mags with black spacers.

Thanks for any insights!

- Ken

Also, I wanted to add that the XD Gear X-Tension spacers I found earlier are for adapting Hi-cap mags for XD Subcompacts 9 mm and .40.

Dangit.

Heck I'd take black, dark earth or bright purple... if anyone knows where I can get these spacers for my long .45 magazines.

The XD45 Compact is only available with a 4" or a 5" barrel. It's not quite the same as the 9/40 subcompacts.

oh wow haha, learn something new everyday... So then what's the point of buying a compact and getting extended mags?

Well, I carry my XD45C with the shorter 10 rd mag in, because the grip is, at least for me, the hard part to conceal. My backup mag is the full length 13 rounder; if I need that, concealment won't be an issue and I have those extra rounds. The 13 round mags are also nicer at the range, less frequent reload, and have just an ever so slightly more comfortable grip due to their length.

That is an absolutely fair question.

I have several very concealable handguns, but none in .45 acp.

The short grip of the XD-45 Compact simply gives the gun more flexibility for me. If I want it Service size...OWB..well..in goes the Hi-Cap.

If I want to conceal it IWB....pop goes the 10 round mag.
