Newbie question

I am giving very serious thought to buying one of the new XD 45 Compacts. I know this question has probably been asked a hundred times but I’m new here. Is the XD45C reliable? My current off duty carry is a Glock 27 which is totally reliable. I want to carry a 45 however and I really like the concept of the XD with the two different sized magazines. I think that is just an awesome set up. I just have a very low tolerance for jams. In my line of work that could get a fellow killed. I have never owned an XD so I am not familiar with them. Most of my cop buddies carry Glocks or Sigs. I will be carrying Hornady TAP 45 +P ammo in this gun.

since a compact just has a shorter grip, the working parts are the same. XD45 so far have been very reliable.

Like with any gun, I'd put 500 rds through it before trusting your life to it. All makers make lemons on occation.

Enjoying my XD .45ACP Tactical. need to break in my 870, and my wife's XDSC9.

I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

HDR, Homeland Defense Rifle

I have never had one problem since I took it out of the box and I have shot everything from premium ammo to military surplus. Mine has been extremely reliable.

WELCOME to the forum! I have an XD45C and never had a jam yet. they make a great weapon, but like said, like cars, gun companies make lemons as well. run 500 through it. chances are you wont have any problem with the gun. they are amazingly fun to shoot and accurate out of the box.

Welcome to the forum. From what I've seen on this forum, with the XD45 being out a little over a year now (and my own 1yr experience), reliability issues have never been a concern.

my XD 9sc hasn't have a single issue in 500rds. my .45 has about 100rds and no issues. shoots nice too. its the 4" non-compact service model.
