Thumbs up shoot cheap, reload

I finally found a load that goes thru my 45 tact like salts thru a snake. If you reolad, attaboy, if you don't this $200 a thousand for Wolf and more for better is enough reason to start. For under $200 you can get an inexpensive Lee Pro 1000 progressive loader with 1 set of dies, ask for the 45acp naturally.
Powder - Red Dot -- $18.50 a pound
Primers - CCI Large Pistol -- $19.00 a 1,000
230 grain lead pre-lubed bullets-$50 for 1,000 @ Ga Arms in Villa Rica, Ga.
Cases - free, pick em up from the local range & save yours
Using the above with the Lee #71 auto disc powder measure that comes with the package for the pro 1000, or 4.7 grains Red Dot using a scale.
You wind up with a soft shooting, accurate bullet that feeds like a hungry dog, shoots straight, doesn't work your wrist more that a Hustler magazine and it will cost you about 9-10 cents a round or $90.00 a thousand.
These would be for target, competition type shooting, save those super hot HP's for defense & anti-aircraft shooting.

I am showing a maximum data for Red Dot using a 230gr Lead bullet at 4 grains. I might be wrong.

I'd like to try my hand at reloading but I'd want to be taught the right way by someone who knows their stuff. Don't really care to accidentally double-load a cartridge and end up blowing my handguns apart.

Sure makes me wish my grandfather hadn't gotten out of it before I was old enough to learn.

shoot cheap, reload

Try a 200gr. SWC Bear Creek moly over 5.2-5.4 gr. of 231 or HP-38. 1.230 OAL, with a WLP. It works fine.
