Talking SA Custom fixes it.

Since I can't find any way to edit the title of my original thread ("SA Custom screws up BIG TIME"), I wanted to make sure everyone knew that SA fixed me up right.

Recap: Last November or so, I sent the slide of my XD 45 to Springfield Custom for night sight installation. Many weeks went by. An inquiry to SC revealed they had already installed the sights, then shipped my slide...to the WRONG ADDRESS. Seems they didn't consult my order form when shipping. D'oh!

Eventually, FedEx got the slide back from the randomly-selected address. About a week and a half later, SC overnighted it to me, AND refunded the entire cost (night sights + return shipping).

While I was without my XD much longer than planned, I ended up with a beautiful set of Trijicons on my XD. All I paid for was the initial shipping to SC (about $8.00). Hell of a deal, and a good outcome, despite the inconvenience.

I think the lesson is that SA occasionally screws up, but if you're patient, they'll fix it and then some.

This isn't the first time SA has fixed me up. The .45 XD I originally bought, around March or April 2006, was a lemon. Two overnight shippings later (second one reimbursed, only because I didn't know they did that the first time), they replaced it. It's that second XD on which I had the night sights installed, AFTER it had proven reliable.

Being involved in transportation and shipping myself, things like this happen all the time.

ALL THE TIME............Trust me.

Now, it is even worse with the INFLUX of workers who drive who cannot read, much less speak english. Besides everyone cutting each other's throats to get the lowest cost to ship products.

To me it sounds like carelessness of that employee. Hopefully they got reprimanded.

Last week, no one to take a load from Texas to NC. So, the company paying for the shipping tried to find a cheaper truck and did. Four days LATE!!

FED EX is usually on the ball. UPS, however has A LOT to be desired. I sent out a contract on a house from NC to go to Baltimore, MD. It ended up two days later, paid the one day costs, in WESTERN PA, up in the mountains. !! And it had the correct addy on it to begin with!!
