Why no aftermarket guide rods for the XD45 Service?
Header says it all. I was looking at my Wolff two piece guide rod in my Glock 30. It looks simular to the XD rod. Couldnt the large end of the factory XD Service guide rod be removed? Rendering it non-captive. This would allow the use of differing recoil springs.
I hope Wolff makes a unit to fit. I would like to try a 20# or 22# recoil spring in my XD. I have done this with several of my Glocks. It realy helps with recoil managment. |

I have some prototypes out there for the .45 Service, and I think that I can keep up with production needs with a bronze bushing for the .45 Service on my own lathe. The setup is a tight fit and you will need to trim one or two coils off of the spring to make room. So they are not a straight drop in part, but within the capabilities of many.
So shortly they will be available. Last edited by Don; 01-05-2007 at 12:02 AM. |
