XD Disappointment

I was wondering if any one could help me. I just bought an XD 45ACP Service Model last weekend. I have put about 250 rounds through it and have noticed a few issues with it.

Low and Left:
I am not jerking the trigger but all most every round seams to go low and left. Has any one herd of the sites being off from the factory? By the way I was shooting a Glock 19 the same day and I was right on.

Finnish:
After 250 rounds I have noticed that the top of the breach is wareing down. Is this thing going to look like cap in a few months with range and holster ware?

Loose Mags:
When I load up all 13 rounds in to a mag I can shake it and here 2 rounds that are loose inside the mag. Is there any way to fix this?

I have to say that I am quite disappointed with the quality of this gun. I am starting to wish that I just spent the $300 more on a used 1911. Can you guys help me fall in love with this gun before I take a hit and trade it in?

Sights from time to time have came a little off.the hight or low thing may be self induced.(Differnt grip angle throws some off).I shoot the XD's and 1911 Poa quite well. But twice in the past two weeks I shot a HK usp and SW sigma 9mm (I think thats what was) Both I shot horrible low I am talking a full foot at 15 yards "Yet pulled my ccw gun XD sub and nailed bullseye's .
The Barrel hood will scuff due to the type lock up.If it bugs you strip and polish it.
Don't have a xd-45 but that rattle is srange on a loaded mag

I too am the new owner of a service XD in .45acp. After 200 rounds at the range, I discovered that @ 50 ft. the sights are regulated to point of aim, point of impact with ball ammo. I have been shooting 1911's almost exclusively for years, and this is my first foray into this type of pistol, so the trigger got some getting used to. Now when I cover up the bull, they will all go into the black of a 50ft. NRA slow fire target. At first I was having the same low & left trouble as you. As to the other issues, I cannot speak to them, as I have not experienced them. Overall, I am very happy with my XD, and plan on using it as my carry gun.
Good luck!

This is common. Keep practicing and/or have someone else shoot the gun.

A little wear gives it character. It says it's no safe queen.

Common. Put the magazine into the gun and the rattle quits.

Send it to me if you still don't want it.

I have not had any such issues with mine. To be honest, it is rare that I hear of anyone being unhappy with these guns right out of the box.

I'd opine that the nut behind the trigger needs some adjustment.

My new XD 9 has the same impact point as yours, low and to the left. I am waiting to break my gun in and see if this changes at all. But with factory sights on a gun you have to find the point of impact. A good gun smith could probably adjust the right to left difference. The high low is going to based on the hight of the rear sight, and to an extent of the ammo you are using. Also what distance you are going to be shooting at. If you want to be real picky with the sights I would suggest getting an adjustable rear.

I scratched the front of my slide on a jeans button, and the top of my barrel is wearing too. All on the first day I owned it.

And, for a day or two I was down in the dumps.

But I got over this. The XD is an awesome gun and my favorite firearm purchase to date. I can hardly wait to take this to the range this weekend.

Low and left is the most common problem newcomers to the XD seem to have based on the posts on this forum. You just need to adjust your grip and trigger finger a bit.

The finish on the breach will wear a bit, putting some oil on it can help, but it's just how this gun fits together.

As for the loose mags, I get this on occasion. It has something to do with the way the double stack works in these mags. Sometimes if I strip a few rounds out and put them back in the rattle goes away.

XD .45 Service here, and low and to the left as well. I have had 3 other people shoot the gun, and they too were low and to the left. I actually had the SAME problem with my SA Ultra Compact. Had a trigger job done, and that problem went away almost immediately.

Funny thing is, my two Ruger's (see sig) are DEAD ON right out of the box.

I will be getting a trigger job done on the XD asap. If this doesnt tighten things up, I think Ill be sending it to a gunsmith to have it sighted in correctly.
