Trigger Job!
Hello everyone, im sorry if this has been asked before. Like several others my Xd-45 has a terrible trigger. I would like to get a 3.5lb trigger pull and have the overtravel taken care of. I know Springfield Custom Shop does it im not sure of the cost? But I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with having it done at one of their local gunsmiths? I just hate to pay more in shipping than the trigger job costs. Also is there anything for the XD like GLocks 3.5lb drop in bar?
Thanks

No Glocklike drop-ins for the XD. Yeah, the cost of shipping tanks, but Scott did SUCH a great job on my trigger that I sent him my 1911 to work on.
My problem with local 'smiths is that if asked, they will all say they can do a trigger job for you. The adantage to sending it to Scott or Rich is that you have probably several hundred people telling you how good the result is. Not so much the case with a local smith.

Don't bother with local gunsmiths. The good ones won't touch an XD and the bad ones will. I sent my XD45 to Canyon Creek and couldn't be happier. It is worth the cost.

I'm sure I could find someone around here that could do a decent trigger job on my XD45 Tactical, but I chose to have my work done by Scott due to the overwhelming positive feedback from the XD forum members. So, sometime in the next few weeks I'll be sending it off to Scott for some work to be done (not just the trigger job).

I have been looking at the Canyon Creek Work Order form myself trying to figure out how I'm gonna pay for all the upgrades that I want.
Neomet - Your sigs are GREAT! FMJ is one of my favorite movies of all time!

Canyon Creek all the way.
Go in on shipping with some other folks to save money.

I live in Bend, Or where Springerprecision calls home.
I will be calling Scott to do any and all custom work on my XD.
I am lucky, lots of cool folks in bend. Muzzys exhaust, Columbia aircraft, Nosler bullets, and a bunch of others.....

Thanks bro. Mine too, plus my dad was a DI for a while when he served. Lets just say that FMJ's characterization of DIs is very, very accurate.

It's very accurate because Gunny Ermey IS a Marine DI. He was hired to consult for the actor who was going to play the DI. But the actor wasn't getting it right and Kubrick finally just told Ermey to do the part. The rest is history.
Check the Gunny's website. Ooh-Rah Gunny! http://www.rleeermey.com/
