Talking New Member saying "HI".

I was visiting my favorite Ma & Pa gun store today and found a XD45 in OD w/black slide, NIB for $499.95.

I just had to check it out.

After about 10 minutes of heaven on earth in my palm, I want one!

It appeared to have a 4" barrel, sound right? Do they make a 5" XD45 also?

Just wanted to check in and say howdy and ask the experts here about the New XD45 in OD.

I have a S&W 4505 8+1, but would love to have the XD 13+1 with a shorter barrel for CCW.

Thankx in advance, Wooddogg the Camo Cowboy.

Welcome to the forum. If you're going to use the gun for CCW, I would suggest you check out the XD45 Compact. It has the same slide/barrel length as the Service model (4"), but it has ~0.5" shaved off of the grip to give you a full sized grip (not oversized) with 10 rnds. Plus you get a 13rnd mag with a grip-sleave if you still want the extra rnds that the Service model has.

And yes they do make an XD45 Tactical with a 5" barrel

Thankx for the info.

Now a newbie question. Price? Is it about the same $, $500.00?

Wooddogg.

Yes, the price is around $500 (I paid $490 shipped to my FFL, but that was a Thanksgiving Blowout special from http://www.scpfirearms.com/ . They are a little hard to find since the Compact was just released this month. Most local stores (at least in the Atlanta area) haven't even seen them yet or know they are available. I've seen them for sale on the internet, Gunbrokers and Gunsamerica had them listed for around $525-535, while AuctionArms had one for $480-515.

Just be persistant with your local stores, or keep calling some of the online stores like http://www.pdhsc.com/specials.htm or www.whittakerguns.com, etc.

Welcome to the gang. Contrary to popular belief, SIZE does matter.............. therfore I got the 5" Tactical. Or something along that line. Just depends on how much gun you want to try and hide in your clothing
