Got my new XD-45 Tac today

Shoots great, but had problems with 200 LSWC, feeds ok, but the recoil spring seems too stiff causing stovepipes, and forcing the nose down on the rounds in the mag. No problems with Round nose at all. Shot a 1.5" group at 15 yards with 4 shots in one ragged hole. Can't wait to fix the trigger pull and sights.

I've done testing with my XD45 tac and lighter recoil springs with reduced power loads with no luck so far. If I ever get my reloading bench put back together from the move I'll make up some loads of various power to see just where the threshold is to work with reduced loads. If I have to push the 200gr over 900fps to get reliable cycling that will rule out lead bullets (for me) and I'll have to go plated. After I get the power level sorted out I'll see if I can find an oal for 200gr swcs that will feed in the XD.

I'm load to an OAL of 1.250

My standard OAL for 200LSWC is 1.250, I'll probably use 230 RN with this gun anyways, but the accuracy was great with my 200"s. Shoots almost as good as my Wilson. Not bad for a box stock gun. Now I have to send 3 XD's to Canyon creek.

Not sure about you guys but the reason SWC don't work in mine is because the out going case is catching on the shoulder of the in coming round. I have done just about everything but no good. At the moment I am trying a JSWC but last time they jambed as well. But I am still working that out, I hope.

Oh by the way dlouque welcome to the big dogs club!

I have used Double Tap with the GDHP in 185 with no problems to report.

Loaded up several hundred 230's

Reset my 650 to churn out some 230's. Been a while since I loaded some, had to reset powder, new lee crimp die, and reset OAL to 1.260. Using 4.6gr of Tightgroup, was accurate in my 625 so lets see what it will do in the xd. My 4.7gr of T.G. with 200 swc at 1.250 shot a 5shot group just over 1.25 inches with 4 going in one hole about 1 inch. This was at 15 yds. Can't wait till Friday to get back to the range. Man working for a living sucks.
