Feed Ramp
Hey All. I Have An XD45 With About 400 Rounds Through It. It Already Has Build Up Starting To Form On The Feed Ramp. I Have Tried Getting It Off With A Cloth And Some Rem Oil and That Didn't Work. I Then Tried Getting It Off With A Bore Brush And Had No Luck. Is This Normal? Does Anyone Have Any Suggestions? Thanks In Advance.

What kind of build up...powder...lead...copper...?
Any good solvent should work fine, just let it soak and do it's job. Matt |

Unless you are talking about it being black in color which is the finish not build up, just a thought. I shined mine up when I smoothed it out with my Dremil to make feeding easier.

I polished the feed ramp on my XD45 Tactical. It still gets build up on it. It's just powder. I use "Brake Clean" To clean my guns. I just buy the cheap stuff a the discount store. It does a good job of cleaning everything. I still use Hoppes to clean the barrell. I just wipe everything thats left with a rag before I lube & reassemble the gun.

I used some generic SS polish on mine when new just to slick it up.
Any residue on the feed ramp just wipes off with my finger now. I use CLP when cleaning and have had no problems. nunnya |

Thanks, All For Your Input I Appreciate It. I Have A Dremel So I Might Take A Small Buffing Pad And Put Some Cleaner On There And See How It Goes.
