Greetings,
First post - new XD45 Tactical owner (5 days now). The January/February 2007 issue of American Handgunner has an XD 45 Tactical on the cover, a centerspread by Ichiro Nagata (better than Playboy) and 8 pages by Clint Smith of Thunder Ranch. I am a graduate of the Defensive Handgun class, finishing on the Friday before Sept 11, 2001. Clint apparently likes the XD45, and concludes the article with "Today I bought three, made-in-Croatia, Springfield Armory XD45's, and couldn't be happier for it." High praise, indeed. spumwuzzle |

If you are able to get Personal Defense TV, I believe Clint is using one of those XDs in his demos. I loved the article as the .45ACP XDs are my pick above all others.

It's a new show on the "Outdoor Channel". Hosted by Tom Gresham, it has weekly segments from Clint Smith and Massad Ayoob. Great show. Smith has been using an XD in his segments.

Read the Article; the thems is much more about the SA custom shop and what the do with what the Author think is the best Tactical 45 out there. Just as FYI...The Custom Shop gets that XD to hold/sustain 1.75" groups at 25 yards.
So those who again claim that their getting sub-2" with thier stock XD....Well... Theres another magazine (just read and forgot the title) who examine/reviews the XD 40...and at 25 yards they found 6"+ inches with some ammo... I still think the XD 45 ACP service is the best XD....

I would like to try from a sandbag rest next time I go shooting with my XD45 Tactical. I have posted a target from 25 yards shooting standing and unsupported and was able to get good decent groups. I have never shot it from a sandbag rest. I would be willing to bet I get 2 inch or better groups out of it. I will post the target from the attempt. |
