I think it is a good idea but I think Springfield is trying to rip people off by offering a compact. The should have made it like that to begin with instead of geting people like myself to purchase the reg. service 45 than slap myself in the face and introduce a compact. But more importantly I like the Doritos in the corner of the chair! You saving them for later?
Whats next a compact compact?? Then finally the sub compact? Why did they not do that with any other caliber?? Picking pockets is what it looks like to me.

A bit cynical, don't you think? I am happy that SA continues to invest in the XD line by bringing out new options and models. It would be easy for them to stick with what they have the sell the hell out of those. Your comments can be held against any manufacturer that creates a new model/version/generation/color/size/etc.

The compact has its place, as does the full size XD45ACP. If you are looking for just one gun, it may be best to sit back, watch the show and wait until SA states that this is the last XD model ever to be released.

Until then, enjoy what you have!

Not the current version. In due time, I am sure Pearce will create a compatible solution.
