Two new .45's and some gun porn
Hey all, I recently swapped/sold all my previous primary pistols to end up with with a couple of XD 45's.
I'm actually more of a fan of CZ's and Baby Eagles as they fit my hands near perfectly. However, they had less capacity, were heavier and either had the park finish or the epoxy and I really wanted something that was lighter, has more capacity and more weather resistant. Essentially all the quality's of the .45's. I've attached a few pics, the first are the new pistols, then a target with my best group overall (5 shots, 10 yards standing). And the last pic is of my wifes PX4 storm and her first 20 shots through the pistol at approx 5 yards. It was mine initially until she showed me how to properly shoot it... I recently let her shoot the tactical and she thought, as I do, that it has less perceived recoil than the PX4 in 9mm. These .45's are actually more accurate than most people realize or are willing to belive. I let my father in law (Glock owner) shoot the tac and he did better with it than his S&W 1911 ( a fine 1911). I've also seen an acquaintance at the range make one large hole at 10 yards with the entire clip, repeatedly. Quite surprising with a combat style, polymer pistol. Enjoy the pics. How do you like the Beretta Px4? I held one last weekend and it had a nice feel but very hard plastic. Sweet 45 by the way.

In some ways it's similar to the XD's, however, being DA/SA it's trigger is much more like an all steel gun than most of the polymer weapons I've tried. It's accurate, light and easy to work on. The interchangable back strap is nice as it allows for a wide variety of hand sizes. The smallest of the straps is pictured. I also like the decocker/disconnector for secure carry for non LE types. |

More gun porn
I know it's not an XD but I'm sooo proud of this picture I recently took of my Kimber and Dan Wesson 1911s. This should please any fan of the 45ACP round.
