Not quite sure what you mean by "function checked," but if you mean did I rack the slide after re-assembly then yes, that is how I found the problem! The slide went about halfway back and then locked up! Problem detected!

Honestly, I have to admit I was doing a quick re-assembly of the gun and was not aware of the problem if the guide rod was out of alignment. Now that I know that, I haven't had a problem since and if if others learn from my mistake, then I don't feel as bad about it.

Thanks,

What I mean by function check is:

Ensure weapon is unloaded

Press trigger with safety engaged - weapon doesn't fire
Disengage safety, press trigger - weapon fires
Hold trigger down, rack slide, release trigger - listen for click (disconnector)
Press trigger again - weapon should fire

Insert EMPTY magazine, pull slide to rear, slide should lock open.

These are the basic steps, but of course the procedures are slightly different depending on the safety features, type action of each weapon
