Should I?
Alright, I love shooting pistols and have shot stuff from .17 to .380 to .45 ACP. 45 ACP is my favorite caliber. I've handled many models and manufacturers and I've decided to make the SA XD .45 ACP in 4 inch model my first pistol. I'd like to get one new-in-box and eventually make it my carry pistol. For the carry holster, I'd like to use an IWB holster with a straight cant. My build is 5'11 240 with 38 inch waste. Does anyone have any suggestions for the holster? I know I'd hafta try it on and wear it to make sure it fits but a general idea would be great.
So ya, should I pick up a new XD in .45 and would it work well with how I want to carry it? Thanks for your input Tom |

YES you Should!
Welcome to the Forum.
XD45 service is great gun, suggest, actually highly recommend www.crossbreedholsters.com SuperTuck or QwikClip. I carry XD45 in SuperTuck and works very well. Adjustable for whatever cant you want - I happen to wear mine at 4oclock FBI cant.

Take a look at the new XD45 compact for carry. The shorter grip will make it easier to conceal. But you can still use 13rd mags when you want to.
I have an XD45 tactical, but I use my 9mm HS2000 or my Kahr P9 for carry. I am seriously considering an XD45 compact for carry myself, but I'm also thinking hard about a Kahr P45. Decisions decisions...

+1 on the compact xd 45.
For the holster I would suggest the milt sparks summer special 2 http://www.miltsparks.com/. I have one for my Hk usp compact and it's the greatest holster I have ever owned. I'm going to order one for the xd compact today because it takes a while for them to make em by hand. (yeah I know; I don't have one yet, but I want them to start making me one so I don't have to wait any longer than I have to once I get my compact) If you're not willing to wait, I also have a comp-tac CTAC holster for my Xd tac 45. http://www.comp-tac.com/ They got it to me in about 3 days and it's a good holster as well. Their "infidel" holster looks good too, but I haven't tried that one yet.
