Until I found a good holster, I used a cheap Uncle Mike's IWB.
I'm about the same build, except for 185 lbs. Crossbreed Supertuck (IWB) and Crossbreed Ranger (OWB) have both been great for XD carry. I've found FBI cant at about 330/4 give me best overall for comfort/concealability.

Yeah, I've got over 19 holsters for my 1911's. One for every possible clothing situation. But my new primary weapon for carry is the XD45 Service, and my primary mode of carry will be IWB. Tired of carrying my high dollar 1911's and messing up the finishes with holster wear. So yeah, I'm VERY familiar with the box of holsters..

First welcome to the forum and congrats on an excellent choice in pistols.
Ah, the holster; most people I know (especially me), have the proverbial box full of holsters that they have purchased and discarded. This is not to say they aren't any good, it's just that there are so many variables. That said, I can tell you my favorites. For carry on the belt, I love the Fist "Dave Spaulding". Fist uses much thinner kydex than any other company I'm familiar with. The "Spaulding" weighs next to nothing, but is very durable and secure. My other favorites are Comp-Tac and Blade Tech. These are all kydex. If you want leather, I'd recommend Fist again, and Galco.
If you can visit different gunshops, perhaps they'll let you try different ones and wear them around the store awhile.

Going with the CTAC with the C-clips. Gonna try it at the 3:30/4:00 position.

I have my XD-40 Service riding in a DeSantis Speed Scabbard and love it. I am pretty sure the XD45 would fit as well. For 60 bucks, its a handsome piece that is comfortable and very fast.

I tried the factory plastic holster but it doesn't stay put on me. Besides that I'm a small guy 5'7'' 150 lbs 30'' waist size, so I figure I would need an IWB holster, right? This is my first gun so what holster do you guys recommend and what carrying position is best for someone my size? Also what magazine holster, I'd like to be able to have 1 extra mag on me.
I bought mine at Bull Eyes in Tacoma and one sales clerk recommended the Kramer horsehide IWB but they were out at the time. So let's hear them. Thanks for all your inputs.
We are all assuming you mean for concealed carry??? What kind of clothing??? This matters... I have a few that I use for different things.

I am all about the Kramer IWB3. Seriously check out www.kramerleather.com used by some of our cuntry's special ops teams.

You can get one custom made in a couple weeks for around 100 bucks. This is apposed to 12 weeks and 200 buks for some of the good holsters.

just my 2 cents.

That's what I got. IWB #3 premium cowhide from a local gun shop. No wait and not much more than the Supertuck. It molds perfectly to my xd45 service and very aesthetically looking. I was deciding between it and Supertuck and that alone made my decision. But I've never tried on the Supertuck and from hearing how comfortable it is by everyone here I want to try it on too. Dont know which one would win in the comfort department though.
