One thing to consider is if you go the service route currently you are pretty much stuck with it as is, aside from different sites, and grip tape or sleeve. Right now you won't be able to get a different guide rod, or spring, and probably a few other things on both sides that I am forgetting right now.
Personally I also have the service and thoroughly enjoy it and can wait for mods to come out for it, I'm just stockpiling ammo for it now anyways.
