Wink New member, New XD .45 ACP Owner!

EDIT: SKIP TO VERY VERY LAST PAGE FOR UPDATE!!!

My first XD. A service model .45 ACP.

My first .45 ever. I am 31 years old and have been a die hard .40 S&W guy for years. My recent addition on the P3AT .380 got me thinking about diversification .

It's not the sweet 06 with the 13+1 but I don't think I mind. My friend, a collector, traded me a Tracker 627 .357 mag revolver (and +$200) for this XD and 5 mags, the case, and the extra gizmos. I am really looking forward to shooting it. I think I got a pretty great deal considering I traded an older gun for it.

Gun has a estimated 150-200 rounds through it. Though I would say hello.

It's not a 45GAP, it says ACP right on it. SN US5517XXX. I may have called it something wrong....

Thanks for the welcome!

I have learned a few things all ready.

Edit. Rechecked the reciept. (Did I mention my buddy is a "formality" guy? ) XD-45 ACP Springfield Armory. I don't get it until 11/10.

You said it's not a 13+1. Since all XD45ACPs other than the compact version hold 13+1, I figured it must be a GAP.

Of course some XD45ACP mags are limited to 10. Where do you live? Are you limited to 10 rounds?

Cause if you're not limited you just get yourself some full-capacity mags and you're in business.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is GREAT news!!! I don't have it yet! I only saw the one mag loose.
The gun is a full size XD.45. Not the real long one though.

The mag that was in the gun in the case was a 10+1 I think.
There are no mag capacity limits in Oregon as far as I know.
If there are 5 mags some HAVE to be 13+1 by this logic right?

I'll post range reports and gun photos this weekend.

I did not look at the case and extra mags because I don't own a gun besides the Bushmaster that holds more than 10 cartridges. I figured, oh well. I don't need 13+. If I can't kill it in ten I should not be shooting at it!

Thanks guys, you made my night.

If there is one or two of them, yes, but what if you are shaking from heightened awareness and there are several perps? Having 13+ never hurts . . .

Congrats on your new tool. You’re going to love it.
