No sh*t...it's a service model with a smaller grip that you can use less rounds in. Wow....pin a metal on the guy who thought that up!

We know that Springfield listens and looks around...they took notice and chopped the grip like a lot of people wanted. Do you think that after threads like this they'll want to cater to the XD crowd anymore?

Perfect for NY
For those of us who live in restrictive states (NY for me) the reduced capacity doesn't matter. I can't purchase an XD with more than 10+1 anyway. I think the compact will sell quite well here.

Its more concealable and because of the shortened grip it doesn't print as much as the service model would ...

The guys who did a grip chop job, I guarantee their guns probably sit shorter than this. |

I don't think it's a bad idea...just not the one I was looking for.
I'm sure they will still sell quite a few of these. If I hadnt already purchased the XD-45 Service I would look into this version. I think SA did a good thing for many...and who knows...maybe they will still build a true XD-45 SC.

Goofy.....
Could this just be an interim solution until they can produce a true sub-compact?
I don't see how they can call it a 'compact'. What's so compact about it???? Well maybe it's at least a step. Wonder if it'll be around in a couple of years?
