I too would like a 3 inch model... but how did this not get leaked to the public until now. This just seems like a way to temporarily offer a sc

Hmmmm notice they did it with the 5" also. I wonder if maybe SA had breakage issues with a proto 3" 45 and decided to go this route instead. Kinda disappointing. I was really hoping to see a XD45SC. Maybe Taurus might get some of my business after all.

Oh man, this is what I wanted!!

Part of me was ticked when I saw these come out, since mine is a dual use gun (home and carry) and there have been a few occations when a touch shorter grip would have been nice. But maybe I can get one for the wife and then borrow it on occation. ...Just to be sure, I'll make sure my current 45 is in the vault when I ask.

Enjoying my XD .45ACP Tactical. need to break in my 870, and my wife's XDSC9.

I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

HDR, Homeland Defense Rifle

Yep, I am a bit ticked as well as I would have waited if I knew Springfield had this coming...I thought it was going to be a true sub-compact. If I knew they were going to release this gun, I would have held off on my Service and bought this instead. Not much difference, but the ability to carry a shorter 10-rd mag would have been nice!

Cheers! M2

Very sneaky SA! (Didn't mean to sound mexican) Its a shame I didn't know they were coming out with the 45ACP compact sooner. Then again I would like to see a 3" model. Now we need to see a 45ACP Sub! Go SA!

Thumbs down Missed the mark

Yawn.

Lame effort from an otherwise good company... so they saw 3 rounds off the butt and use the same X-Tension concept as with the SubCompact, but STILL have a 4" barrel.

I have an XD45 Service and and XD40SC - I won't be buying this new pistol until it is truly a SubCompact.

Exclamation XD 45 Sub Compact AVAILABLE

http://www.springfield-armory.com/pr...-compact.shtml

IT'S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Two Guns in One:Trying to decide between a smaller carry gun and a full size duty gun? Well the latest 45 ACP XD Pistol is two guns in one. This new 45 is a 4 inch barreled pistol with a shortened grip frame for easier carry. But each gun comes with two magazines. A 10-round compact magazine and a 13-round Service Model magazine with XD Gear X-Tension™. That means a simple change of the magazine converts this 10 + 1 round compact into a 13 + 1 round service model. And of course, whether in compact or full sized form, the XD's Point and Shoot Ergonomics™ means that big or small, the XD fits in your hand like no other.

I Would Have To Hold It And See If It Feels Better In My Hand.plus , It's Not Any Shorter So Thats Just Like Carrying Your Full Size Service. I Would Hope Sa Will Come Out With A 3 Inch Model.seems A Little Rushed To Me.maybe It Will Make The Grade For A Subbie.jury Is Still Out On This One People.
