I couldn't imagine an extended 30rd magazine sticking out of my 5" Tac a full 6 inches! And you would want that why?

Glock came up with the idea fo the G19 (I think that's the number for the full-auto) since it ran thru the standard clips...err, magazines...too quickly.

BTW, the whole clip/magazine thing is one of my pet peeves as well.

The G18 is the FA. The G19 is the compact 9mm. The G18 was origianlly developed to give regular officers the option of a sub-machinegun if needed but not in a rifle pattern. MP5's look very menacing in the hands of the police. A pistol has a different profile. A protective/deffensive look. The +30 round mags were developed for a firepower advantage. The G18 is easily controled in trained hands.

My opinion is......

If you want a 30+ round mag.......

Get one. What can you loose? You can't "carry" the thing and it is illegal in most competitions. Unless you are a Class 3 manufacturer(or whatever it is) you aren't going to legally make an XD machinegun(cool as F@CK!!). So buy the stupid mag load it up with 30+ rounds and light up the range in a safe and fun manner!!!

Thanks for the correction, I knew it was somwhere in there. One of our SWAT guys carries one, and you're right, it is amazingly controlable. And I'm with you, if you want a 30rd mag, go for it, I bet you'll have a lot of fun with it.

30 Rounds

Great to shoot - a real pain to load.

My CZ75 Mags seem to take a day to load even with a loader.

30 rounds? I'd rather have 5 or six magazines than one long one sticking out a foot longer than the grip.

I have an XD9mm 20 round Pro-mag and it has been flawless. I have only used it about 10 times though...

Ok, you high-cap maniacs. I called up Scott at Springer Precision and ordered two base plates for my 5” Tac. I decided I would try them out to see if I like them. I’ll try anything once (well, almost).
Scott seems like a heck of a guy. I spoke to him on the phone and he was very friendly and helpful. In fact, the only base plates he had left were his prototypes and he agreed to ship me those instead of making me wait until next week. What a guy!

I’ll let you all know how they do.
