What is meant by grain of a bullet?

It is the weight of the bullet. 1 grain equals 1/7000 of a pound.

That is the weight of the bullet measured in grains. There are 7000 grains in one pound.

Thats how bullets and gun powder are measured 1 grain = the weight of 1 grain of wheat. It all started a long time ago
