Depending on load, I would guess anywhere from 15k to 30k rounds. Time will tell, check back in this forum in a year or so.

Since I just purchased my 5" Tactical last Saturday, I only have 200 rds of 230gr Lawman and 100rds of 230gr UMC through it. I had one FTF with the Lawman in my #2 magazine. It was the first time I used #2 magazine and it never did it again. I'll just chalk that up to breaking it in! This weekend will be another 400 rds . . . whooo hoooo!

I just put #1000 through my XD-45 tonight. I've had the pistol for about two months and love it. No failures whatsoever.

round count

I bought mine at the first gun show I saw it (about 6 months ago) and I've got @3,000 through mine. Friends have jammed it by limpwristing it (darned revolver shooters) but never hiccupped on me, except for the one aguilla round with the bad primer. Never let me down in a match.

GW45NUT,
Please elaborate on your expierience with Wolf ammo and your P97.
I've had some split cases using Wolf in my P97 so I no longer use it.
I've shot some pretty warm reloads in my Ruger with no problems, only
mod. being an extra power recoil spring. How did yours almost blow-up?

Thanks,
nunnya

As of right now, 400 rounds (200 rounds of reloaded 230gr FMJ @ 865fps and 200 rounds of 230gr FMJ WWB). By the end of today, it'll be 600 rounds. By the end of tomorrow, it'll be 800 rounds. After that, I'll start trying different loads to see which work best...then when I get all my gear for reloading, I'll start trying to find that "perfect round" for my pistol (.45 Tactical). My wife got her new XD .40 Service last weekend and put almost 200 rounds through it (I put about 50, she put 150), but she did put 50 through the rental XD that helped her decide that she wanted one.

Service = 1175 and the Tactical = 2090. Mostly cast handloads other than some RA45T 230g for test purposes as it is my favorite CCW ammo. No reliability problems at all. Guess I'm selfish but I inend to wear them or their replacements out before I'm gone. No sense in leaving a good shooter behind.

I've been focussed elsewhere for the past few months so I've only shot around 1500 through my Tactical. Magtech, Blazer, WWB, Wolf, Federal HS, and handloads from 190pf to 45 Super. The only failures I've had are with the low pf loads. With standard-power loads, +P loads, and Super loads no failures of any kind.

I'm thinking it's now time to get some better sights and a Springer Carry trigger job, and this will be a damn-near perfect pistol. (Only less than perfect in that it won't function with bunny-fart target loads, which is a minor complaint.)
