I have put 1,026 rounds through my XD-45ACP without a single failure. All ammo used was 230gr. Mostly Remington UMC, WWB, Federal's American Eagle, and a very small amount (26 rounds) of Federal Premium Tactical Hydra-Shok.

Edit: Forgot that I shot American Eagle ammo too.

Just started shooting my 5" Tactical today, put through approx. 150-175 rds. WWB ammo in 185gr and 230gr FMJ. No FE's, FF's or problems of any kind. Balance was fine and recoil was very light. The grip safety was not even noticable and the trigger was real comfortable and did not bite like my Glock does occasionally. First impressions are very positive and look forward to many more range sessions. I Installed TruGlo TFS's right after I got my XD45 and they were easy to sight on.

I'm getting very close to 5000 rounds. Mostly 230gr FMJ.Both re-loads & WWB. I got my XD45 Tactical in March & have used it a lot. This is one great firearm!

I've shot thousands of rounds of wolf ammo in 45, 9mm and 223 and have only had a few jams. My xd doesn't like the older wolf 45, the stuff with the green laquer on it, but it hasn't jammed yet with the new gray polymer rounds. If it weren't for the fact that I'm saving up brass for the reloader I'm getting I'd still be shooting wolf.
Some of my AR mags that I use strictly for the range due to reliability issues actually work better with wolf ammo than even Black Hills ammo. I don't know if it's the coating on the casings or what but they honestly seem to function better than brass. Go figure. With all things YMMV.

Hello all. Long-time shooter but first time posting on XD Talk.
I have had 3 or 4 FTF with my 4" XD-45ACP. Only happened with one particular mag and since I've gotten rid of that mag I have had no further FTF/FTE in 1400rds of various ammo.

How many rounds can a gun handle before it needs a "rebuild" or you need a new gun. I know it all depends on how well you clean it, but on average? Or does it just keep going as long as you take care of it?

So I was wondering how many rounds you have through yours?

Did you notice anything wearing out the more rounds you put through it?

Do I need to change anything with it after a certain number of rounds?

Thanks in Advance

Just passed the 1K mark. All different brands, different weights, not a problem. I would never put Wolf through my Tactical or any other hand gun. Now the Russian 7.62X39 seems to work fine. I had a Wolf 45 ACP that was overcharged almost blow up a Ruger P97DC on me. That was the end of Wolf pistol ammo for me. I do not have an answer on parts longevity.

Most of your modern pistols should go thousands and thousands of rounds with very little needed in the way of repairs. Maybe replace a recoil spring here, put in a new extractor there. Just strip her down and clean her .
(kinda reminds me of this girl I used to....that's a different story).
