New to guns, help with ammo
Im new to gun ownership, and I have a question, hope you all can help. I have an 45 ACP. As far as ammo is concerned, do I only have to get ACP rounds, or can it be both 45 auto and ACP, just as long as its not GAP, right? In a nut shell, what type of ammo can I buy for my ACP? Thanks

Just ACP, do not shoot GAP in it. Everyone has their preferences in ammo, just make sure its .45acp and you are good. Welcome aboard also.

45 Auto is just another term for 45 ACP, which stands for Automatic Colt Pistol. Either ACP or Auto is fine, just no GAP, like Coastie said. And welcome to the addiction.

Commercial ammo is typically labeled 45 Auto or 45 Automatic and is appropriate for use in a pistol marketed as 45 ACP. The last time I saw 45 ACP on ammo for sale was on a bag of reloads 22 years ago.
