Safety Glasses

I just learned that if I wear a pair of drug store reading glasses in 1.0 mag ... and put safety glasses over them ... one ... I can see the front sights and target both very clearly ... and two ... it is very uncomfortable wearing reading glasses under safety glasses! I'm sure others have found a good solution ... I want safety glasses with lenses that are full 1.0 mag ... no bifocals ... no big safety glasses that fit over reading glasses ... full lense at 1.0 works great ... who can recommend an outfit that supplies such safety glasses ... both clear and sunglasses ... thanks ... John

Yep, I use those on my Silencio glasses and they work perfectly. My sights are sharp and my shooting has improved. Recommended!

Thanks for the input

I did find some full lens 1.0 safety wrap around glasses thru Amazon (Rendezvous and Ztek reader safety glasses) ... I think they will work ... I didn't want to deal with bifocals ... when a full lens will work for my vision ... the bifocal stick ons look like a good deal for my safety glasses at the loading bench ... John

Are you shooting for marksmanship or are you shooting practicing your technique for self-defense? If it's the latter, I wouldn't mess around with any of that stuff...I mean you aren't going to be able to tell an attacker to wait, put his knife or gun away while you get out your reading glasses so you can pull your firearm and focus properly on his torso and the front sight at the same time.

If you're just shooting for score, then more power to you and your new found technique.

I no more plan to put on earmuffs than put on safety glasses in a self defense situation ... I do practise for self defense ... but I also practise IDPA shooting ... and cowboy action shooting ... and for scores ... it's nice to see ... just picked up some bi-focal stick ons from Walgreens for my ammo loading safety glasses ... I'm on a roll! John
