Well I went and did it.

I joined the XD family today. Purchased an XD45 Tactical. It is Black. The shop that I purchased from let me shoot the XD45 Tactical and a Glock 21. I liked how the XD felt in my hand, it fit. The Glock was too bulky and the slide came back and rode on the web of my hand. The glock did shoot good. Off hand I shot a 3" group at 15 yards with the shops reloads. Being able to shoot the XD45T helped me make a wise choice.

I just read a report at work where a Glock 21 pulled a "kB!"* in the hands of a police officer at a range. This isn't the first instance of this happening (see asterick below). But like you I get a better grip around the XD-45, the problem with the large frame size of the 21 is even mentioned in its Wikipedia page...

Cheers! M2

Welcome to the 45 tactical family. I hope you end up being as happy with yours as I am with mine.

Welcome! I thought I would mention that I left a Glock 21 at the gunshop in trade for my XD45 Tactical. I haven't looked back! The ergonomics of the xd are so much better than the Glock's. I think you will find accuracy to be excellent with the XD45. Good Luck and enjoy.
