XD 45 Jammed!
Hello All,
Need some advice please! Every night when i put my XD45 next to my bed, i chamber a round and insert a magazine fully loaded, for protection incase of a home invasion -- and each morning i wake up and unchamber the round, pull out the magazine, and store the gun unloaded in a safe location! Well the other morning when i tried to unchamber the round it was stuck, the gun will not unchamber the LIVE round and i dont know what to do?? any suggestions of what to do?? Thanks in advance! |

Do not mess with it at all, get it to a gunsmith and let them take care of it!
Good luck! M2

Is it still in there??? If so, lock the slide to the rear, make sure there isnt a magazine in the well, use a pencil or pen to gently tap it out (from the muzzle end obviously)... then take your unloaded firearm to a 'smith or send it in to SA if it continues to do this.

XD-45 stuck round
Is this a reloaded cartridge? If it is, look for the Glock bulge. This happened with my XD-9 Service reloads. I moved the sizer die down a few thou and Voila, no stuck cartridges.

I just had that happen to me with my new XD-45 5 tact DE. I chambered a round put my insight M3 luminator on the rail and left it by my bed, I couldn't depress the mag release button so what I did was manually cycle a few rounds out of the magazine and it was able to eject the mag picked up the loose round and reloaded the mag. I think when they are new they are tight so I only put in 10 rounds til i get her "worked in" try that but keep your finger off the trigger and just keep racking the slide and letting live shells eject manually. It worked for me.

You need to take the mag out FIRST then unchamber the round...otherwise you are just loading another round.
