Ok folks, time for Polymerhead's baseless prediction for 2007:

Since Springfield released the EMP (if you can call a 2-year rework of a platform designed for a failing cartridge a "release") in late 3rd quarter 2006 instead of waiting a quarter and launching it at SHOT, I predict that the 2007 SHOT show will see the release of the XD45ACP SC!

Bold, I know...but since I have nothing to lose nor anything to gain from such a prediction, I'm putting it out there. Since the military contract has been shelved, it should free up some time, effort and $$ for SC development/marketing/testing/shipping to my FFL.

I agree how many times can a gun maker re-invent the 1911 platform? As to the release of the XD SC 45 someone else on the forum was making the same prediction as to the 2007 SHOT show. I sure hope it comes to pass.
