.45acp holster CCW
Howdy gentlemen and ladies,
First off I'd like to say I can't believe how great this website has been on information....second I frequent many other forums and none compare when it comes to quick answers ....my question to the .45 group is this...those that CCW with specifically the 4" 45ACP in the wait band ..i was wondering what you all use? and i guess lastly...i'm a lefty..yeah, yeah, i know...the odd ball of the group...but i just recently sent off my CCW and am in the process of finding a good IWB holster for the 4 inch service....i want to know what you carry specifically the brand and/or model and who and at what position you carry...anyways...good luck, be safe, and hope to hear from yas.... Hi Bublar,
I've tried alot of holsters and wasted alot of money on them. Give Crossbreed a try, you won't be dissapointed. www.crossbreedholsters.com

I carry my XD-45 Service Model in a CompTac C-TAC IWB holster. As a lefty, I carry it in the 8:00 position and am quite happy with my holster selection. YMMV.

A lot depends on your "personal configuration" (e.g. body composure). I am a relatively skinny guy (6'2", 192 lbs) and find that concealing the 45 ACP to be a bit of a challenge unless I am wearing a loose XL t-shirt. Being a cheapskate, I picked up a Uncle Mike's Inside the Pants Sidekick at Sportsman's Warehouse, a simple neopreme holster with a clip that holds my XD quite snugly. As I am not going to run around like T.J. Hooker with it, I don't think I will have any problems with the gun falling out (the model I have doesn't have a retention strap, but if you are concerned about that, they do have models with them). I find that the UM's size 15 holsters are just right for the XD-45 ACP. Good luck, finding the right holster is like finding the right woman...it takes some "trial and error" Cheers! M2 |

I use a Crossbreed super tuck (very comfortable), and for quick on/off (like running to the store) I use an IWB FIST #7 Kydex with J-hooks.

I dug out the package my Uncle Mike's came in, it is model number 8915-1; but it is for a righthanded carry...
Hope that helps! Cheers! M2 |
