New .45 ACP Sub-Compact
I keep hearing rumblings that Springfield is about to come out with a sub-compact 45. Can anyone confirm this? I am thinking about selling my sub 40 to purchase a Para Ordinance Warthog but will wait for Springfield if they are planning a new rollout. Thanks!

It's been rumored for sometime.... I wouldn't suggest you count on it till you see it sitting on the shelf.

I'll keep my XD40SC even after SA comes out with the XD45SC simply because I believe the 40SW caliber is more effective out of the short barrel, but a word on the Warthog - that little guy gets HEAVY by the end of the day.

I carry a Taurus PT145 Millenium Pro. Awesome little pistol. Smooth trigger pull, DAO, second strike capability, and 10+1 45ACP capacity. Small as a sub Glock too.

Cheers! M2 |

The talk about the XD45 sub came about as soon as the talk about the XD45 fullsize came about.. dont hold your breath.. maybe call SA and see what they might be willing to tell you .

The taurus is on it's 3rd generation and has evolved from a few problems to very dependable. I plan on getting my xd45 svc cut down to take sc mags when they come out and may sell the taurus and get the xd45sc (unless I think I don't need it with the cut down svc) when it ever comes out, but in the meantime I really like the taurus. It's a great carry pistol at around 300.00.

Nice ...
That looks much better than my old PT-945.
I could do that if SA waits too long to bring out the SC45ACP'er. You know SA 'll bring it out next year to try to win "Gun of the Year" again back to back. It is good to hear Taurus is fixing the QC problems of the Milly. I've had a PT-92, PT-22, PT-945, and recently the 62 Pump Rifle from them. Only one I didn't like was the 945 as it was too cheaply made and they cut too many corners on it. 945 - Too big for a single stacker too; like a CZ-97 in size. |
