Rumors About Guide Rod Problems

Anybody have a slide jam because of an unstable guide rod? I haven't but somebody on Sig Forum has written that it is a major problem, and that if it happens, you have to send the gun back to Springfield. It's the first really negative thing I've heard about my favorite gun, so I'm interested in reponses.

Cheers,

Mo

Thumbs down SIG forum belch!!

It's not been a problem of jamming when being fired it happens when people mis-align the guide rod when putting their XDs back togather after cleaning. Now I myself have not had it happen or really know anyone it has happened to. But calling it a MAJOR problem is far from factual. I guess if you buy a high dollor SIG anything could be a MAJOR problem like finding out their Mags cost about $60 US dollars each. Now thats a MAJOR problem IMHO.

It's happened maybe twice that I've heard about. It only can happen if you don't put the guide rod in place like it should be. If the GR isn't in it's place, then it could slip off and cause problems (from what I understand).

People will hear unsubstantiated rumors like this on an unrelated forum and take it for gospel, rather than coming here for the real dope....Go figure.

It's kinda like going to Glock Talk and asking for an un-biased review of the XD!!

I discovered that the person in Sigforum that made the statement had gleaned it from Glock Talk. Oh Well.....

Thumbs down Taking a stand

I have found if one takes a stand about some wrong Info. being posted on some forums... GlockTalk... 1911 forum... Combatcarry their moderators get after you. If it's got something to do with products they are pushing you don't stand a chance in hell of getting the truth posted.

I am banned from Glock Talk, which is strange, because I've never posted there.
