It is an excellent choice for USPSA L-10.

It can't compete in the SSP as it is classified by the IDPA as a single action pistol, or so I was told.

Since the 45 acp is a lower pressure round than the 40, it has a mellower recoil than the 40. Most shooters I've been around agree that the 40 produces the most muzzle rise and slowest follow-up shots of the three (9mm, 40S&W, 45acp).

I agree, that it is a good choice for L10 since you have to shoot major loads. You can shoot it in Production, but I don't think it will run as fast as bunny fart 9mms (like mine).

In IDPA, many are now shooting it in CDP.

ok...so a 45 (I like th L10 idea) is now in my sights...next question...4 or 5"?

I'll stick with my 1911 (Gold cup smithed out with wilson parts) in CDP..it's like an extension of my arm

I use mine for 3 gun. It makes a great pistol for my heavy metal set up. I just put in Don's guide rod and Darren's big button mag release. I shot Ky State 3 gun yesterday-the XD ran great.
It's a great L10 pistol too.
