Guns&Ammo COMBAT TACTICS ran an article about the XD45 and it states that Beretta 9mm & 40 SW will work unilaterally in the XD45 or rather "will accept" these magazines. I know my Beretta PX4 9mm mags will not so perhaps it is 92 specific.

Has anyone played with this yet? I just dont see the authors point on inserting this tidbit of seemingly worthless intel. Perhaps I am wrong, and as always, I hope I am.

Do advise

Yes they do fit, back when getting xd mags was difficult at best, I bought a berretta 92 mag and ran it in my xd 9mm. You do have to modify the mag so that it fits into the xd, by cutting some of the metal away.

With the availability of xd mags, not only from SA and some of our commercial sponsors here on the forum, but by some of the mag manufactures, there is no reason to modify a magazine into a frankenmag now.

The author was spewing non-relevant facts. The mags from a Beretta 9mm will work in an XD9 and the mags from a Beretta 40S&W will work in an XD40. Facts that are useless/dangerous in an article about the XD45acp.

IIRC the Beretta magazine would work but you had to modify them. You had to drill an hole in the front side and square up the top of the hole for it to engage the magazine catch. The magazines were also longer than XD magazines and so if you slammed them home on an open slide you were likely to break the extractor.

ETA and a 9mm and 40S&W magazine would not work in an XD-45ACP no matter if there XD or Beretta
