I haven't been on the site in a long time, but I started shooting again and it lit the fire under me again. At the gun show today, I bought a XD45 service model. After I got home, I was checking it out and noticed the guide rod sticks out about a 1/4"
If it is supposed to be that way, does Don make a shorter guide rod to make it look 'normal'. I havent shot ityet, and the shop I bought it from is local, so it shouldn't be a problem to take it back (on my end). Lastly, concerning the XDGEAR that came with the pistol, what is the thingy in the middle? I thought it was supposed to be some kind of loader, but I can't figuer out how to use it |

Yes, the quide rod sticks about a little less than 1/8", that's normal.

Yes, that "thingy" in the middle is a loader. Slip it over one of the clips, slide in a round, then use it to push the round downward while you load in the next round. Makes it a lot easier to load the clips!
And if it doesn't work, flip it around the other way. There is a little clip at the end which pushes down the round in the clip. It shouldn't take long to figure it out... Cheers! M2 |

You can get a Don's "fat" guide rod for it. Add's weight to the front end of the weapon.

It sticks out so it doesn't go out of battery when/if you hit something with it in theory.
