XD-45 vs Sig P220
I've had a love hate relationship with my Sig P220. Yes I know they are great guns and that it's me not the gun. I shoot my 1911 really well and my Glock 22 well also. Between these two fine weapons, I would like to know what you think? Thanks for your input.

If you must choose one or the other, go with whichever gun you shoot best. It sounds like that may be the XD for you. Both are great guns.

XD45. Lighter, easier to carry, more rounds. I had a 220ST -- it's an awful lot of gun to only hold 8rounds. Hated the "dot the i" sights. Was going to get night sights -- ended up getting a great offer and traded up to an XD. Now, this is not a slam against Sig -- I love both the 226 and 229. Want a 229 -- my 9mm needs are covered by my Glocks and Tanfoglio Match -- I have a Glock 32, with a KKM barrel in .40S&W -- yet I still lust for a 229.
Another thing about the XD45ACP -- I like shooting it better than my Glock 21. Don't think you can go wrong with the pistol from Karlovac. |

One of these days I still intend to get a P220 Sport for a fungun.
My carry gun will be an XD unless/until something phenomenal comes along. That said, I have always and still want a Sig, but it's not real high on my list of toys right now... a smaller XD for carry and a 16" AR15 are next. -l

I recently purchased an XD-45 4". I chose it over the P220R because of weight, mag capacity, price, ambidextrous magazine release, and checkering on the grip. What's not to love?

they're both great guns
The Sig 220 is one of the most incredibly accurate handguns I've shot. So is the XD. Like I always say, get 'em both. 220 is single stack and easier to conceal.

Had both. Still have the XD. Nothing against the Sig at all, I just didn't see the point when I like the XD better. If the XD45 didn't exist I'd still have the 220. Might get another one sometime when I become rich and famous.
